Despite the Distance We Remain Destined: GROUP SHOW

Despite the Distance, We Remain Destined is a group exhibition that brings together recent work of five contemporary artists from West Asia and North Africa, including Mays Almoosawi, Dora Dalila Cheffi, Elham Etemadi, Bayan Kiwan, and Anhar Salem. Distance–measurable or not, physical or emotional–exists in the various forms of our interconnectedness that define our bonds and boundaries. The selected works delve into the complexities of distance within relationships, and bring forth questions that deal with longing, belonging, connecting, and retreating. With a sense of wit, wonder, and subtlety, the group of artists unpack different relationship dynamics that are rooted in identity, kinship, friendship, and desire.
