Born in Shiraz, Iran, in 1983, Elham Etemadi now lives and works in Paris. Holding a PhD in Visual Arts, she has developed a vibrant, dreamlike painting practice in which human figures, animals, and imaginary architectures intertwine. Her richly colored universe explores memory, dreams, and the construction of inner landscapes, blurring the boundaries between reality and imagination.

Born in Tehran in 1982, Mamali Shafahi lives and works between Paris and Tehran. Working across sculpture, video, and installation, he explores intergenerational transmission, contemporary mythologies, and the impact of technology on our identities. His hybrid practice connects the intimate with the virtual, weaving together family heritage and digital futures.

For this edition of Asia Now, Mamali Shafahi once again collaborates with Domenico Gutknecht. Together, they have created two new works that bring together oil painting and epoxy resin sculpture, merging their respective artistic languages into a dialogue that is both sensual and experimental.
