On the occasion of Abu Dhabi Art 2022, held from 16 to 20 November 2022, we presented a selection of works by Héla Ammar, Béchir Boussandel, Slimen Elkamel, El Medhi Largo, and Aïcha Snoussi, bringing together practices that explore notions of memory, territory, the body, and identity through sensitive and experimental approaches.

Working across photography, drawing, painting, installation, and mixed media, the artists develop distinctive visual languages in which archives, collective imaginaries, abstraction, intimate narratives, and contemporary social issues intersect. This participation in Abu Dhabi Art provided an opportunity to showcase the richness and diversity of contemporary artistic practices from the Maghreb and the Middle East to an international audience of collectors, curators, and institutions.
