« Le Monoscape est un espace et arrière- plan, froid, sombre et monochrome où je crée toutes les scènes et les histoires que je raconte.»
«The Monoscape is a cold, dark and monochrome space and background, where I create all the scenes and stories that I tell.»
Like dreams, Saad Nazih’s paintings have a cathartic function for our brain. By superimposing scattered objects without apparent logical connections, they constitute rebuses, enigmas whose meaning is to be sought in their symbolism, which essentially revolves around the many forms of power, religious, political, military, media and capitalist, as well as the oppression that they exert on humans and the rest of the living.
At the center of these compositions, the artist’s uncle, represented with a naked and vulnerable body, is at the heart of these visions and the questions they pose. By embodying the common man, he invites the people to explore their own vision of the world, their own thoughts, outside the control of reason.
To grasp the power relations that bind it, the human mind frees itself from any preconception that could prevent it from seeing its chains, and observes the world at a subliminal level, to awaken and free its consciousness in an unconscious but enlightening poetic reality.
