Through his creations, Béchir Boussandel seeks to reappropriate space and time, in a poetic relationship with drawings and the surface of his canvases. He transforms them into uncluttered still lifes, giving them a universal character. For this new stage in his plastic research, Béchir Boussandel explores expanses beyond the canvas, beyond the very contours of his paintings, freeing himself from the frame and its limits.
Between abstraction and figuration, between depth marked by horizon lines and surfaces highlighted by shadows, the artist proposes for this exhibition a play of glances between an imaginary of the Audomarois territory and an elsewhere. Starting from a colorful base of pure abstraction, the hallmark of her work, the artist populates her playground with objects or animals, even situations reminiscent of her travels and experiences. Playing on different planes, textures, colors and shapes, he interweaves these fragments like an ancient mosaic.
