Alfred Hitchcock's 1943 film Shadow of a Doubt featured a young girl plagued by doubts about her uncle's supposedly murderous profile. Doubt, which questions the truth and real appearance of things, spares no human being, whatever their sex, origin or place in the social hierarchy.
Artists, for their part, often play on the ambivalence and attractive power of images. Aware that doubt disturbs and worries, they project, behind the seductive icons and glitter, a message far more disturbing and tragic than the appearances they reveal. 15 artists have been brought together for the exhibition "L'Ombre d'un doute" (Shadow of a Doubt), which Galerie La La Lande invites you to discover from September 1 to October 1, 2022.
